It's
that time of year again for the Visitors
Bureau to unveil its marketing plan for
the 2006 - 2007 fiscal year. Also, this
year, we are excited about showing off it's
new look! Our new design Agency, 20/10 Design,
did a wonderful job designing our new Annual
Report/ Marketing Plan.
The
event will be held Tuesday, July 18 at QVC
Studio Park (the Studio Tour entrance),
and it's free to attend. A complimentary
continental breakfast will be served from
8:30 - 9:00AM, and speakers include Dawn
Dowling, Visitors Bureau Chair, Greg Edevane,
Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Andy
Wood, Director of Advertising, Greater Philadelphia
Tourism Marketing Corporation and a Philadelphia
2016 representative. Philadelphia 2016 is
the organization that bid on hosting the
2016 Olympics in Philadelphia. Also, Steve
Pijanowski, President of the Pearl Exhibit
Group will be on hand with several samples
of trade show booths.
Please
RSVP with Jan Reeps, Director of Membership
and Visitors Center Director at jan@cccvb.org
or 610-719-1730. |

Jim Weaver,
a travel writer for the Tyler Texas Daily News,
as well as a few other publications, and the
travel editor for the New York Trend, spent
the last week in June in the Brandywine Valley
on a familiarization tour (FAM Tour) with Matt
DiFilippo, Director of Communications. The Visitors
Bureau would like to thank Cheryl Grono of the
Pennsbury Inn for her hospitality (and Matt
enjoyed the breakfast, too!), the Kennett Steak
and Mushroom Restaurant for a wonderful lunch,
Winterthur, the Chaddsford Winery and the Mushroom
Cap retail shop in Kennett Square. For information
on travel writers or to make your business available
for future FAM Tours, contact Matt DiFilippo,
Director of Communications at matt@cccvb.org
or 610-719-1730. The Visitors Bureau would also
like to thank Michael Basciani of Basciani
Foods for allowing tours of the Basciani
Mushroom Farm. For more information on public
mushroom farm tours, attend the Kennett Square
Mushroom Festival in September or contact the
Mushroom Cap retail shop in Kennett Square at

Our summer
mixer was a hit, thanks to the planning and generosity
of the Inn at Chester Springs. Tom Basol, General
Manager, Kim Turnbaugh, Director of Sales and
the rest of the hotel staff did a wonderful job
coordinating the event with Jan Reeps, Director
of Membership/
Visitors Center Director for the Visitors Bureau.
Outside and in the temperature-controlled tent
next to the outdoor pool was the perfect spot
for our luau event, our first "informal"
mixer. Guests were invited to dress down, and
all showed up in their summer best. The food and
beverage service was superb, and the live band
was a hit, too. For more information on the hotel
or to plan your upcoming event there, visit their
Web site: www.innatchestersprings.com.
