Did you know? The iconic horror film The Blob, released in 1958, starring Steve McQueen was filmed right here in Chester County, and featured the iconic Colonial Theatre in downtown Phoenixville! To celebrate the town's cinematic heritage, the Colonial puts on their annual Blobfest - a quirky, eccentric weekend long festival during the second weekend in July that's a scary good time every year. On Friday and Sunday, catch special screenings of classic horror films, along with their Friday night Run-Out, where patron reenact an iconic scene from The Blob. Enjoy a street fair on Saturday that feature a parade, local artisans and live music from 11am-4pm.
