The Brandywine Valley is not only a premier holiday destination but also a warm place to be during the subsequent cold winter months. Museums, the lively arts and the first tastes of spring can help take the chill off the long winter months.
Fire your passion for art at the Brandywine Museum of Art. Works by the famed Wyeth family of artists: N.C, Andrew and Jamie are featured in gorgeous galleries. From February 24 through September 15, 2024, Every Leaf & Twig: Andrew Wyeth’s Botanical Imagination will be on view. The exhibition features 40 watercolors and drawings depicting Andrew’s botanical inspirations.

Botanical inspiration is all around the Brandywine Valley as it is in the heart of America’s Garden Capital. Home to Longwood Gardens, the region is a garden lovers dream with so many public gardens and arboretums to explore.
Winter Wonder at Longwood offers both serene outdoor landscapes and a four-acre grand conservatory under glass filled with bold blooms and delightful displays.

Book a Longwood Gardens getaway at participating accommodations and receive a reusable Welcome Bag filled with treats and offers. For an early taste of spring add a visit to nearby PHS Philadelphia Flower Show - the nation’s largest and longest running horticultural event. The 2024 show is themed “United by Flowers” and is open from March 2- 10, 2024.
The lively arts scene in the Brandywine Valley warms the soul. From live theatre to films, concerts and comedy, there is something for every taste. The ripple, the wave that carried me home at People’s Light, February 21 through March 24, 2024, will be an emotional journey from Christina Anderson whom Variety calls “a playwright to pay attention to.” The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville hosts tribute bands of many genres as well as Irish folk music and more. And West Chester’s Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center resounds with music, film and comedic performances.
