Artistic Expressions

Fire your passion for art at the regions renowned museums. Brandywine River Museum of Art will be joining with The Westmoreland Museum of American Art to showcase some of the finest works from the Richard M. Scaife Bequest. Scaife was a long-time trustee of the Brandywine Museum of Art and amassed an extensive art collection prior to his  death in 2014. Take in the variety of styles and subjects in this selection of 50 paintings from March 9, 2019 to May 27, 2019.


If you have children in tow, or are just young at heart, head to the Delaware Art Museum for a unique look at historical illustrations of fairy tales and nursery rhymes in The Droller Collection of Picture Book Art. From March 2, 2019 – May 12, 2019, take in 100 vibrant takes on classic tales from artists hailing from eight countries.


Chester County’s Brandywine Valley’s close proximity to Philadelphia makes the city an easy day trip to visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art and other renowned attractions. The museum is known internationally for an amazing array of collections. Through March 2, go glam with Fabulous Fashion: From Dior’s New Look to Now, a look at how designers have taken color and pattern, shape and volume, and defined generations.


Harbinger of Spring

A taste of spring is available all winter long at Longwood Gardens, and Orchids take center stage at the Orchid Extravaganza, January 19 through March 24, 2019. Wander through the four-acre conservatory where thousands of orchids drape from walls, flow from orbs and form a captivating 12-foot archway.

The 2019 Philadelphia PHS Flower Show celebrates the life-sustaining interplay of horticulture and water with ”Flower Power” from March 2-10, 2019.
