Chester County’s Brandywine Valley is the place to be this season as the bright skies will sparkle by day and glow at night. Majestic hot-air balloons, helicopters, airplanes and drones take to the sky plus spectacular fountains & fireworks light up magical warm evenings.
Longwood Gardens' Main Fountain Garden opens the spectacular season with a summer-long Festival of Fountains May 8 through September 27, 2026. Fountains dance and soar up to 175 feet and Illuminated Fountain Performances take center stage on Thursday through Saturday evenings. Special Fireworks & Fountains shows are scheduled: July 2, July 18, August 8, August 22, September 6 and September 26. Evening events call for accommodations so plan ahead to not be disappointed as rooms and tickets go quickly. All seating for Fireworks & Fountains Shows is reserved. Reserved seating allows you to select your seat, then arrive to your seat placed and waiting for you—no need to bring your own chair.
Hot air balloons fill the skies at the Chester County Balloon Festival . During the festival the sky fills with colorful balloons of all shapes and sizes. The festival is held at Ludwig's Corner Horse Show Grounds. The festivities start on Friday, June 19 with the Friday Night Glow. On Saturday and Sunday June 20 & 21, the festival will feature crafts, food vendors, fireworks, tethered balloon rides and live music.
Take the whole family to New Garden Airport's Festival of Flight Air, Car and Tractor Show on August 8 & 9, 2026. Look to the sky for stunt demonstrations, while back on earth enjoy antique car and aircraft displays; food and craft vendors; and more.
Finally, enjoy a luminous experience at Longwood Gardens' all new drone show, August 26 & 27, 2026. Gather on the Orchard Lawn for a 45 minute live performance of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons as choreographed drones soar through the open sky, creating glowing, artistic patterns of light. These special event tickets will sell out quickly, so plan ahead.
